Carriage Scenes Tablescape

I bought these plates for pennies and thought they would make a beautiful setting. Now I want more of them. I know that will cost more.

This tablescape was done in honor of my nephew and his wife, Daniel and Morgan Sprinkle. I tried to recreate their wedding day table setting but could not find the lucky bamboo they had for their center pieces. The bamboo was in individual glass containers and each guest was to take one home as a wedding favor. I loved their natural, earthy elements. Mine however is different. The reason I wanted to remember them is because they were getting ready to leave for Thailand to work with the Peace Corp for two years. I wish them the very best. They are two wonderful people.

Have a happy and prosperous New Year Tablescape.

Christmas Tablescape

This is my Christmas tablescape. It is definitely lacking a centerpiece but I especially love the snow ladies. They belonged to my mom. I wish she was here to enjoy my new hobby. She would have loved it too.

Tablescapes

I was in Goodwill a while back looking over all the discarded treasures that had been donated. There I was minding my own business when a lady struck up conversation. Who would have known that was the beginning of my new hobby. In the course of conversation she told me about a website called Between Naps on the Porch.
I was hooked the moment I laid eyes on those beautiful tablescapes. Since that time I have attempted to do a few and if I say so myself, they are getting better and better. Take a look.

The first one is a fall tablescape. I don't think I even put this together until the day before Thanksgiving. Nothing like waiting to the last minute.

Simple Christmas This Year

This will be our first Christmas without our children here. Robert has been gone for a while but now he is married and he and Nicolette live in Chicago, IL. Cara got married this past October and she and Nik live in Oceanside, CA. Christmas will be different. Instead of the two or three trees that I usually put up, it is down to one simple tree, it is beautiful though. The lights alone make it beautiful. I put up the nativity scene that Pat and I bought right after we got married, 32 years ago. It brings back lots of memories. Usually I have a nativity in every room, including the bathrooms. Everywhere you went in my house I wanted the true meaning of Christmas to be remembered, and I still do even though there is not a reminder in every room. We are having a simple Christmas this year.
